Dahon Eco C6 Folding Bike - Brick Red Reviews
5 of 5 people found the following review helpful Very solid bike. Easy to handle, easy to use., September 3, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Dahon Eco C6 Folding Bike - Brick Red I've had this bike for a month now and have rode it about 5 times. It's very well built and feels very solid. It's gotten easier to unfold and fold over time as the grease in the joints got broken into. It still takes me more than 15 secs to fold it, maybe because I'm not that strong. Probably takes me 45 secs to fold. Unfolding the bike feels faster, maybe 30 secs. I only use it leasurely and don't carry it around with me. I doubt I can travel with it and take it on a subway, because, again, I'm not that strong. I'm a girl and 27 lbs is still a lot for me to carry. I can wheel the bike if I extend the seat up while the bike is still folded, but it's not that steady to wheel, unlike what I've seen for the Brompton in youtube vids. When you get the bike from Amazon, it comes in packaging and there's this pole that sticks out from under the shaft where the seat pole would go in. It's kind of annoying to take out and the only way to do it is to ram the seat pole through from the top to... Read more
5 of 5 people found the following review helpful Dahon Eco C6, June 18, 2011 This review is from: Dahon Eco C6 Folding Bike - Brick Red Just purchased the Dahon Eco C6 and love it. Smooth and fun to ride for around the town or paved bike path. Great space saver for the RV. It was a little difficult to fold at first. I watched a YouTube video on how to fold and got it. If riding for a long period of time the seat is a bit uncomfortable so plan on covering with a gel seat cover. Happy I purchased the model with the different speeds. I like the simplicity of changing the gears. There are only 6. No problem pedaling against the wind or up small hills. Overall, very pleased with purchase.
7 of 8 people found the following review helpful Good to ride but a bit tight to fold and unfold, May 30, 2011 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Dahon Eco C6 Folding Bike - Brick Red I have got Eco3 for myself and Eco6 for my husband. I found eco 6 is more difficult to be folded and unfolded. The folding hinge is tight even I asked the bikeshop to tune it for me. Seller suggests using lubricant , it improves a bit but still not as easy to fold as ECO3.
Besides, there are a few more steps to do before you can store it to its smallest size compare to that of Eco 3. Yet, those additional steps are easy to manage and won't take more than 10 seconds.
Both Eco3 and Eco6 has a sturdy frame and is comfortable to ride for 1 to 2 hours. The seating then become not so comfortable for a longer ride.
Although both Eco3 and 6 claim to be suitable for people from 4'8'' to 6'5'', the height of the handlepost for Eco6 is longer than that of Eco3. As a person with 5'5'' height, I found it less comfortable to grab the handle of Eco6 (when I set the handle post to its lowest position).
I would say Eco 6 is a great bike specially for taller... Read more
